At the prize giving Alan Moore warmly thanked the ICMSA for their support and sponsorship of the venture which he said was a really positive partnership whereby an environmental group collaborated with a major farming organisation to promote our native hedgerows which he said were arguably our most important landscape feature especially in intensively managed farmland.

Denis Drennan said the ICMSA was delighted to sponsor the competition and that in addition to their 'critical role' in enhancing biodiversity, their heritage and practical roles could not be overstated.
